The "Obligatory Picture"

I don't usually tend to rant about random subjects, but I'm going to. I was on okcupid earlier looking at some profiles and came across a picture of a guy taking a picture of himself in the mirror...fine, we have all done it, BUT it was labled the "obligatory mirror photo" I don't get it. Why are we all "required" to take these ridiculous pictures, find someone to take a real picture of you...I mean they aren't usually artistic and you get a horrible glare from the camera flash. Maybe what should be "obligatory" is a normal picture of you doing things like a normal person or a not so normal person, but you're not holing yourself up in your bathroom trying to take a picture of yourself in the mirror, it just looks ridiculous lol. I have no idea why this bothered me, but I think people assuming that people should be taking these pictures is just dumb. That's all for now. Happy New Year!

Confidence shaken and a little bit homesick...all I want to do is cry.

I love the holiday season. Even though I can't be at home with my family and friends, it makes me happy to know that I have a family here that makes the season just as wonderful and joyful for me. It's rare for me to be in places and have such a content feeling inside, it's new and I love it :-)
